"USAA is proud to partner with the Valero Texas Open, first played in 1922 - the same year USAA was founded," said USAA Vice President and Head of Brand Marketing Jen Escobar. “It’s a privilege to be part of an event with such a storied history that both celebrates our military service members, veterans and their families and shows our city’s unwavering commitment to the military community."

USAA and the Valero Texas Open are offering complimentary tickets to the tournament as a token of appreciation for local service members and veterans. • Free parking at River City Community Church from Thursday to Sunday.
  • Access to the Heroes Pavilion presented by Upland Exploration located on the 17th green, where military guests and their companions can relax and enjoy complimentary snacks, non-alcoholic refreshments, and covered seating. Additional in-venue concessions will be available for purchase.
  • USAA will also have a booth set up in the Heroes Pavilion, where visitors can take an augmented reality photo of themselves on the 18th green with the Valero Texas Open Trophy, creating a memorable keepsake of their experience.

The Valero Texas Open is the third oldest PGA TOUR tournament, the fifth oldest professional tournament worldwide, and the longest-running professional golf tournament to be held in the same city its entire existence. The tournament is the only PGA TOUR event to have been contested on a military golf course at Fort Sam Houston in 1950, 1951, 1956, and 1960 boasting legendary winners like Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer.

This year, the Night to Honor Our Heroes presented by USAA will be held on Friday, April 4, bringing together active military, wounded veterans and corporate supporters for an event that will feature a rare collection of military artifacts, moving testimonials and a moderated fireside chat with golfing legend and World Golf Hall of Fame member Jack Nicklaus. Event proceeds will be supporting military-focused charities and initiatives throughout the community.
