USAA Bank Performance in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study

What This Means for You - And How You See The Value Every Day

The Lead:

What’s Behind a JD Power Score – And How You Experience This Everyday

The JD Power 2026 U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study polls tens of thousands of cardholders like you to provide an independent, comprehensive view of how they experience their primary credit cards.

The study measures customer satisfaction with a cardholder’s primary credit card across seven dimensions: account management, benefits, customer service, new account, rewards earning, rewards redeeming and terms.

The study also tracks how customer perceptions shift. As JD Power notes in the 2026 study:

“Card value – the combined impact of terms, benefits and rewards – is becoming a more critical driver of satisfaction.”

Value. No other word has mattered more to USAA over the last 12 months. As more Americans have faced rising household costs, USAA Bank has enhanced our credit card lineup to deliver more value to members to help ease that strain.

We’ve amplified what you earn in rewards, including categories where consumer prices have increased, such as gas and groceries. We have made it easier to for you to use those rewards to offset everyday costs.

Our intention is simple: put more money back in the pockets of our military service members and their families:

New Products, Bigger Rewards: USAA Bank rolled out new credit cards that delivered more cash back in the categories where your spending matters most.

  • USAA® Eagle Adapt™ Visa Signature® Credit Card: 3% cash back on the first $3,000 in combined quarterly purchases across groceries, dining, home improvement, gas, health and wellness, and other eligible spend categories
  • USAA® Cashback Rewards Plus American Express® Credit Card: Enhances value for military service members, with 5% on the first $5,000 in military base purchases and the first $3,000 in gas purchases annually, along with 3% for the first $3,000 in grocery purchases annually.

A Game-Changing Credit Builder: We also launched the USAA® Eagle Ascend™ American Express® Credit Card, a new product for credit building that delivers rewards and added benefits. We believe that those starting or rebuilding credit deserve rewards.

More Flexibility for Everyday Expenses: In a recent USAA Bank survey, over 35% said they redeem their credit card rewards for daily essentials. USAA Bank’s Shop with Rewards program enables you to use their rewards points to reduce a gas, grocery or retail expense, right at the point-of-sale. That’s in-the-moment relief, helping you free up money for other needs.

As gas prices have stayed high, these offers have been immensely popular. Shop With Rewards is now the #1 redemption option by monthly volume among USAA Bank credit card holders.

Streamlined Digital Experience: You asked, we listened. Applying for a new USAA credit card is easier than ever. We’ve enhanced the insights you get on your spending behaviors and added new credit tools that help you manage your finances.

Delivering Value When and Where It’s Needed Most

We measure credit card satisfaction a little differently. We ask ourselves: Does your USAA credit card give you good value? Is your USAA credit card made for the realities of military life? Does it contribute to your financial security?

For some, this could mean handling rising costs with ease. For others, that could mean managing a life event without burden.

The value that USAA Bank brings can be felt in your everyday financial life. Here’s what people are saying about USAA’s credit cards:
